15 Weeks!

Hello all!  Welcome to our baby blog!  Tyler and I thought this blog would be a great way to keep everyone updated on our crazy and exciting journey into parenthood!  We will post weekly updates regarding the growth and development of the baby, as well as, how our lives are already starting to change!

This week we are 15 weeks along!  Officially a couple weeks into the second trimester and time is flying!

The baby at 15 weeks:  The baby is the size of a naval orange (4.5 inches and about 2-3 oz)!  According to "What to Expect When You're Expecting", the baby's eyes and ears are positioning themselves into their proper positions, the baby has the coordination and strength to wiggle his or her fingers and toes and maybe even suck his or her thumb!  The baby is also making breathing movements and, although we can't feel anything yet, kicking, flexing and moving it's arms and legs!

Momma and Papa at 15 weeks:  I am finally feeling great after a couple months of fatigue and nausea and Tyler and I are equally excited about this.  We have been building a coop for our chickens and trying to spend as much time as we can outside together (dogs and cat too) during our days off.  I am still running and going to yoga and Tyler and I are both still climbing- don't worry-I have switched to wearing a special "mom-to-be" harness to keep both myself and baby safe!

This weeks "bump" picture:  Taken at the rock wall in my new full body harness!
Hope you guys enjoyed our weekly update!  Stay tuned for next week- we get to hear the baby's heartbeat again at our 16 week appointment!
Lots of love!
