Weeks 30 and 31!

Today we are 31 weeks and 2 days! We are about 3/4 (possibly less) of the way through this amazing journey!! These past two weeks have been so exciting and busy and we have loved every minute of it!

Baby at 31 weeks: Baby's food size comparison this week is to a pineapple (about 18 inches long and over 3 pounds)! For the next 6 weeks, baby will gain about a half of a pound a week!  Baby's brain is also getting bigger every day! Baby can now regulate it's own body temperature at this stage and is perceiving signals from all 5 senses. Baby C has hiccups almost daily and they say this is good practice for breathing outside the womb!

Momma and Papa this week: We were both super busy at work during the last 2 weeks but the weekends have been awesome! Skylar and TJ and TJ's girlfriend, Liz arrived to the Cape early a week ago Friday morning (July 31st). I met them at my moms late morning and we went to Mayflower Beach for a few hours and then the ladies got pedicures! Friday night after Tyler came home we grabbed some dinner and cleaned up a bit in preparation for some house guests. That Saturday we all went to Coast Guard beach where Ty was able to do some surfing while the rest of us played in the waves.  We saw so many seals!  We parted ways from my family Saturday night and Tyler's parents came to stay at our house that evening. We had a delicious dinner and went to bed early to prepare for Sunday!
Sunday (August 2nd) was our Baby Shower!! It was held at the John Carver Inn in Plymouth. The theme was "As sweet as can Bee".  My mom and sister did an incredible job with the planning and decor and the place looked incredible. With the help of my dad, they led all our guests through some awesome games with great prizes! Many people commented that it was the best baby shower they've ever been to!  Everyone had such a great time and Tyler and I are truly thankful for all the hard work our family put in to celebrate Baby C! Enjoy a few of the pics below! We really do have amazing friends and family and this baby is loved by so many already!
Monday of last week I met TJ, Sky and Liz for lunch at the Common Ground in Hyannis and then that night I got to open an early birthday present from Ty- an incredible stand up paddle board!  It really is an amazing piece of art and I am so excited about it.  Tuesday of last week we all went on an all day sailing trip over to Nantucket.  It was an awesome adventure!!   Friday of last week my, dad, Kelly and myself took my new board to Onset Beach where we were able to get her in the water for the first time!  We all had such a great time and everyone did really well!  Later that night Tyler and I took her out again on a local pond down the road from us.  He fell in after trying to "pop a wheelie"!
Wednesday of last week was our 30 week doctor's appointment.  Everything is still going really well and Baby's heartbeat is getting even stronger/louder! Have a listen below!  We have our 32 week appointment on my birthday next week!
Saturday of this past weekend was our birthing class. It was an all day course held at Falmouth Hospital and very informative.  I really think we both got a lot out of it and it was great to get a tour of the maternity units. Saturday night we met Tyler's family at their Cape house in Orleans for dinner and a fire.  I worked Sunday and Tyler was busy making shelves for the baby's room and to hang both of our awesome boards!  Yesterday we were finally able to go climbing...we haven't been in a few weeks and even though it was at the gym, it was nice to get a good workout in!
Now for the pictures!!  They are a bit scattered in terms of order, but you'll get the idea.

Well, that completes another LONG update!  There has just been so much going on lately!  The next several weeks aren't going to slow down too much either but we wouldn't have it any other way!  This baby is going to be here before we know it!  Hope everyone has a great week and weekend!  All our love!  XOXO
