Weeks 35, 36, 37

Today we are 37 weeks and 4 days.  That means less than 2.5 weeks until this baby is due!  Wow!  Cannot believe it!

Baby this week:  Baby's food size comparison this week is to a winter melon--no one seems to know what that is, Tyler and myself included.  Baby's estimated to be anywhere from 19-22 inches long and about 6-6.5 pounds.  Baby's brain and nervous system continue to develop (a process that doesn't slow down until about 3 years of age) but mostly baby is just packing on the pounds!

Momma and Papa this week:  The last few weeks have been a bit of a whirlwind with work schedules and trips.  I am still on overnights but was able to meet Tyler in Maine for a few days two weekends ago.   The ride wasn't too bad and it is absolutely gorgeous up there.  When the dogs and myself arrived, Tyler was able to take the rest of the afternoon off so we could walk around the campus where he was doing his teaching and then adventure to downtown Bar Harbor where we played tourist and then had a truly amazing dinner.  The next day it was pouring and he was in the lab teaching all day but I was able to catch up on some sleep and then join him and get to watch him work for a few hours.  Saturday was also a half day for him so I got myself a massage in the morning and then we took the dogs on a 3 mile hike up Beech Mountain in Acadia National Park.  It was incredible and we all had a great time (pics below).  On the way home from Maine, one of our cars broke down.  While it was a bit of an inconvenience, we were able to drive the rest of the way home in 1 car and it ended up being a cheap/easy fix.  Thank goodness for AAA!  End of last week we traveled by Amtrak train to Washington DC for a veterinary conference.  I went to the conference and Tyler did other work but we were able to escape quite a bit and go on a few downtown DC excursions.  We adventured around our hotel area the first night with Skylar (she drove 2.5 hours to come see us!) and Juli.  We spent most of Sunday walking around DC and going to the Air and Space Museum.  We had lunch on the National Mall and later in the afternoon/evening visited most of the major monuments.  The next afternoon was spent at the Museum of Natural History (my favorite).  You really do need at least a week in the DC area to explore all of the amazing sites and museums it has to offer so we will have to make another trip sometime.  Tuesday we traveled home by train and lucky for me, I have the rest of the week and weekend off!  We are heading up to western Mass this weekend for the wedding of one of Tyler's oldest childhood friends.  The weather is perfect right now and we both feel great!  Enjoy some pictures of all our recent adventures below (sorry they are not in any particular order)!

Weeks 32, 33 and 34!

Today we are 34 weeks and 3 days..less than 6 weeks left until our due date!  We cannot believe how fast time is going by and this month it doesn't seem like it will slow down at all!  Baby C will be here before we know it!

Baby at 34 weeks:  Baby's food size comparison this week is to a either butternut squash (head to toe) or a cantaloupe (head to bum).  Baby is averaged to be close to 5lbs and about 18 inches.  In the last few weeks major developments have started to slow down and baby is working on gaining weight!  Baby's pupils are responsive to light and baby's tiny fingernails are full length!

Momma and Papa this week:  The past few weeks have been busy, as usual.  We've both been working, of course, but did manage to have a little bit of fun!  I had my 30th birthday and both of my best friends came to town for the weekend.  Kelly and Ryan came down from Springfield and Juli and her girlfriend, Mary, came all the way from Chicago!  We went to the beach, P Town and had a great time catching up.  Tyler spoiled me with flowers, a balloon and an ice cream cake.  Tyler then left that Saturday for a week in Maine for work but came home last Friday night and we were able to spend a good portion of the weekend together.  While Tyler was in Maine, I worked a lot but went to a paint night to celebrate Kelly's 50th, had some quality time with my Nana and Poppa and spent 3 nights having dinner with my mama.  I spent all last Friday day with my mom too and then went to the Marshfield Fair Friday night with my dad, Kelly and my bro and sis.  That was really fun and I was able to experience my first demolition derby!  Over the weekend Tyler and I did some home projects and finished decorating the baby's room!  Just a few more finishing touches but the room is pretty much ready for baby!  This week I start a month of overnights so Ty and I won't see each other much during the mid week but we have a lot of fun things to look forward to on our weekends!  This weekend we are both off for a few days before Tyler heads back to Maine for another week but the dogs and myself will be joining him in Maine for 3 days at the end of next week!  Well, enjoy a few pics of the last few weeks below!

32 week doctor's appointment:  Measurements and heart rate were right on track.  The doctor said Baby C is head down already!  Hoping baby stays that way!  Baby C is still very active and we love watching all the movement.

This baby gets bigger every week and so do I!  Sorry for another long/overdue post!  I'll try and be better this next month but our schedules are going to be crazy busy!  Hope everyone has a safe and fun Labor Day weekend!  XOXOX
